Ben Diamond (born October 9, 1978) is a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives[1], representing the 68th District, which includes most of the City of Saint Petersburg[2], Pinellas County.[3]

History[edit]

Ben Diamond is an attorney St. Petersburg, Florida and a member of the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Clearwater, Florida,[4] Ben graduated from Yale University[5] in 2000, and earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law[6]in 2003, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Law Review[7]. Ben's grandfather was the late Representative Dante Fascell[8] who represented Dade and Monroe Counties in the the United States House of Representatives for 19 consecutive terms, from 1955 to 1993.

Prior to his election to the Florida House of Representatives for District 68, Ben Diamond's public service included: Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority[9], Board of Directors, 2014-2016; General Counsel to Florida's Chief Financial Officer, and the Florida Department of Financial Services, 2009-2011; Special Counsel to Florida's Chief Financial Officer, 2007-2009; Law Clerk to the Honorable Emmett Ripley Cox[10], United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit,[11] 2004-2005.
