Scriptics Corporation was founded by John Ousterhout early in 1998[1] and was located at 2593 Coast Avenue Mountain View, CA. They sold a development suite for Tcl called TclPro. Scriptics also did the main core development of the language following John's split from Sun Microsystems until the development was released to the Tcl Core Team.

The company was renamed to Ajuba Solutions on May 22, 2000[2]. In the fall of 2000, the company was sold to Interwoven[3]. Most of the software engineers were rehired and moved to Interwoven's office at 1195 West Fremont Avenue in Sunnyvale, CA
