Jacob Rabon IV (born December 19, 1995), commonly known by his online pseudonym Alpharad, is an American YouTuber and musician.

Rabon has released music under the band Ace of Hearts beginning in 2020.

Early life[edit]

In fifth grade, Rabon began uploading comedic videos online.[1]

He enrolled in high school classes to learn video editing and cinematography.[1]

Rabon attended the University of Oklahoma.[2]

Rabon quit his job at a photography company to pursue making YouTube videos full-time while attending college.[1]

Though he initially aimed to become a writer, director, or editor after college, he stated that he preferred the creative control associated with making his own projects.[1]

Career[edit]

YouTube[edit]

In 2016, Rabon described his YouTube channel as predominately based around Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, with videos made about other games, such as Overwatch.[1]

Rabon signed with the Creative Artists Agency in 2020 alongside YouTuber Jirard "The Completionist" Khalil.[3]

Esports[edit]

Rabon stated that he once had aspirations to compete in Super Smash Bros. tournaments, though later felt that he did not have enough time to do so.[1]

Rabon served as content director at the esports organization Panda Global in 2016, where he worked on managing Panda Global's YouTube channel.[1] Rabon stepped down from this position to focus on his own YouTube channel, though rejoined Panda Global as content director and a minority shareholder in 2018.[4]

Other ventures[edit]

Music[edit]

Rabon's band, Ace of Hearts, released its debut extended play, Monophobia, in June 2020.[3] Ace of Hearts' debut album, Frozen in Time, released in December 2021.[5]
