The Way Page[edit]

Sorry to post at the top, bud ... just wanted to make sure you got my communication. I want to move the cult statement in the first paragraph on the Way International page down to "Cult" section. There are only 2 editors that think TWI is a cult, and if they want to discuss that line of thought, shouldn't it be done under the cult section? - StanleyGoodspeed ( you can respond at your convenience on my talk page : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Stanleygoodspeed777)

Victor Paul Wierwille[edit]

Please consider making this page uneditable by people not signed in. It's related to the Way International page in content, and the same person who kept making edits adding his own POV into it is doing the same there and giving "clever" reasons like "corrected punctuation". And only hours after he apologized for doing the same on the other page and claiming innocence and ignorance. How strange.Pete Snowball 13:52, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

It wasn't intentional. I thought we had peace, bud. Stanleygoodspeed777 00:41, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Antaeus Feldspar and Pete Snowball[edit]

DecKiller, these are the 2 gentlemen that keep deleting my edits within minutes of my posting them. And these were reasonable edits ( http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Way_International&action=history ). Can you mediate or stop their unfair deletions and revisions? Final Fantasy IX[edit]

Hello. In the FF WikiProject, I saw you were wanting to take up FFIX. I mentioned that I was in the middle of rewriting it, but I honestly want to focus back on the Square Co. page that I've been working on for practically months now. I was wondering if you wanted to take my source code for the FFIX page and go at it. I can definitely help explain things on the way; some of the stuff is in shorthand (my own little placeholder notes), so I'll point those out to you beforehand if you decide to finish the rest of the project. Thanks! --Tristam 19:20, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Where do you want me to post the source code? --Tristam 03:31, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks Deckiller! For citing the character's quotes in the game, the full game script from GameFAQs is perfect. A lot of other information (especially regarding development) can be gleaned from a Gaming Intelligence Agency mirror's news archives: http://terror.snm-hgkz.ch/mirrors/thegia/sites/www.thegia.com/news/archives.html. Mostly look for stuff around 1999 and 2000 I'd say. Finally, the usual sources can help a lot, like GameSpot and IGN. And I suppose in our desperation to get sources that aren't ALL Web sources, a Google Scholar search brings up a couple interesting results. Oh, and if you'd like to cite the manual, replacementdocs has it. As I said, I'll be ready to help explain stuff, it's just that I was burned out with the overhaul and I wanted to return to overhauling the Square Co. page. :) --Tristam 16:46, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Clone Wars[edit]

I promoted Clone Wars (Star Wars); I haven't read it in a while and it certainly has improved. I wasn't sure where to categorize it at the Good Articles page, so I stuck in the film section. If someone doesn't like that they can just move it. I only had a few minor comments about the article that I noted on the article's talk page.

Thanks for promoting Padmé Amidala. I didn't even know someone had nominated it for GA. Dmoon1 05:12, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Just dropping you a line...[edit]

I like how your userpage is formatted and organized. I used your header as a basis for mine, though I tweaked it a bit (font tags bad!). Just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks for the inspiration. ;) EVula 05:43, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

West Liberty Foods & Clone Wars[edit]

No problem. If a page is in need, both of us taking a look at it could only benefit it. Ryu Kaze 15:54, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

That is a pretty nice page. What's this about turning Clone Wars into a 3D animated series? What would be the point? o.O The story's already told, and with decent enough animation for what it was trying to do. Ryu Kaze 16:16, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Do tell. I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and guess that it's a sci-fi story? Ryu Kaze 17:22, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Freelancer: Combat Evolved[edit]

Hey, Deckiller!

Thanks for the support on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Freelancer: Combat Evolved. It appears that user:Dl0ad and user:Nightrogue are going to put up a voiciferous fight..., but thank you very much for supporting the deletion of the article.

I really appreciate it!

I will be going on vacation soon, so I hope that you can take care of the AfD discussion in my steed.

Cheers,

RelentlessRouge 19:46, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your prompt reply. The AfD discussion is getting out of hand, with the two other users, or just one of them, I'm not sure, they may be sockpuppets, accusing me of my age, intellect/manners (not sure what they're trying to accuse me of, lol, just too many accusations), failed RfA, and other points.
I just wanted to say a sincere thanks again for supporting me on the overwhelming AfD discussion.
Cheers,
RelentlessRouge 20:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Do you think that a user check would be appropriate in the AfD discussion to see if they're sockpuppets? I don't think so, but just wanted to run it by you.
Cheers!
RelentlessRouge 20:41, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
I concur. Sorry for wasting your time... =S
Cheers!

Well[edit]

Looks like your favorite lady made it to adminship, eh? I know you were quite supportive of her bid, so this is a victory for you too, I guess. Wikipedia's future looks a little brighter. Though I hope she doesn't get weighed down too badly with all the crap that I'm sure comes with the job. Ryu Kaze 23:36, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

I hope not too. She's far too sweet to become bitter because of the stupidity that can show up in this place. Ryu Kaze 23:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

Could you have a look at TheEmulatorGuy's latest edit at FFVIII? Personally, I'm not too sure of how relevant the inclusion of that information is, but since he's typically helpful with random odds and ends, I hesitated to just outright revert it. What I am certain is misplaced, though, is the use of the information itself as a reference. Do you feel like the information is even worth bothering to try finding a source and better means of inclusion for? It's not like every game released in Europe gets a release in every European country anyway. Ryu Kaze 23:59, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Just noticed your comment on Shadow's FAC. I understand. It's hard to support something when Tony hasn't given his seal of approval. Anyway, get some sleep and let me know tomorrow what you think of the latest edit over on FFVIII. I'm going to leave some comments on his talk page. Ryu Kaze 00:04, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Got an opinion on this yet? I'm ready to revert it, man. It's information that applies to every game released in Europe. It's general release info for games released in PAL territories, not release info specific to Final Fantasy VIII. Ryu Kaze 14:53, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Final Fantasy 1[edit]

I added a lot of stuff to the FF1 article with the comment that it might be veering too close to a strategy guide. You removed all of it, and I fully understand why; WP:NOT, etc. My own feeling is that the right balance is somewhere between where the article is now and what I put there. (I tend to give too much detail.)

What I'm curious about is, what's the difference between an "encyclopedic fact" and a "strategy guide fact"? My feeling was that if someone had never played a console RPG, hit "Random article" and read this, and then watched someone else play FF1, they should know exactly what was going on. I tried to include what I thought was relevant to that. (Though all the stuff about attributes is probably overkill.) I'd like to hear your feedback before I make another attempt. 141.211.173.188 04:14, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Ah, I see. That's me trying to be comprehensive. Give me a moment and I'll try to produce something more reasonable. 141.211.173.188 04:22, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

RuneScape cruft for AfD[edit]

I've abadoned the idea of nominating any RuneScape cruft. Simply because the amount of effort and hassle involved surpasses my will to do it. Also, if you do nominate any RuneScape cruft for AfD you'll come up against a huge army of RuneScape fans that'll inevitably vote against any AfD and probably vandalise you, your pages, well you get the point.--Andeh 11:57, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it will be quite a misson, not one I'm willing to accept.--Andeh 14:43, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Thrustship?[edit]

Hello Deckiller,

Why did you merge the Thrustship article into List of Star Wars capital ships? It was an important part in the three Black Fleet Crisis books... every single one of them.

I didn't want to start an edit war, so let's discuss it before doing anything.

Cheers,

RelentlessRouge 12:41, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Deckiller. Thanks for the prompt reply. Can you please elaborate more? (If I don't answer, it's because I'm leaving in a few hours)
Cheers, RelentlessRouge 14:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if I'm wasting your time... lol. Why are the stats unencyclopedic?
Cheers,
RelentlessRouge 14:34, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry once again for wasting your time. I might not answer because I'm leaving for vacation to Delta Halo (jk) soon. Ok. It's from the West End Games sourcebook for RPG. Not fancruft.
Cheers,

Kuja[edit]

While I'm not terribly interested in Final Fantasy IX, I did take a look at the Kuja talk page and commented on the relevance of the article. I think the discussion that began there should go ahead and be settled up. I don't see the point in him having his own article to be honest. More explanation on the talk page. Ryu Kaze 22:09, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, not quite. Looking at the games in order of best sales, they'd be VII, X, VIII, IX, X-2, VI, etc. Obviously Sephiroth merits his own article, and Seymour probably makes sense as well, but out of the next titles, Kuja's got one while Ultimecia, Kefka and Shuyin don't. Given this and Kuja's already substantial section on the list of FFIX's characters, as well as the fact that describing IX's story comprehensively will require a pretty thorough explanation of him anyway (sales figures aside, he is the central conflict of the game, really; the same can't really be said of Seifer with VIII or Seymour in X; in order for them to get proper coverage, they'd have to get their own articles), it seems to me like him having his own article's kind of unnecessary. Any discussion of him is really a discussion of the game's story, and any discussion of the game's story is going to largely be a discussion of him, so I just think it will probably make for some somewhat unnecessary reiteration across the three articles (Final Fantasy IX, List of Final Fantasy IX characters and Kuja).
He's certainly a notable villain, though. I'm just saying that in light of the treatment of most of the other notable villains and given the already thorough treatment of Kuja's role, it seems somewhat unnecessary for him to have his own article. It made sense to me at the time of looking at the page. Does it make any sense to you or am I totally off on this one? Ryu Kaze 02:15, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Alright. That sounds sensible. Ryu Kaze 02:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello[edit]

Hi there! Thanks for dropping by - I'm doing great! Not up to much at the moment, just browsing around. Where has adminship taken you now these days? --HappyCamper 02:33, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

You mean about WikiPhilosophies? At one point in time, I had thought of putting up my own WikiPhilosophy. After a while, I gave up, and felt that Wikipedia was too complicated for one little Wikipedian to describe adequately! :-) However, it's nice to come across one every now and then. I just finished reading your page. One idea you might want to think about is the difference between "equity" and "equality". Give it some thought - it can be quite useful here! --HappyCamper 03:04, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Apology[edit]

I apologize and admit that it is vandalism. My friends and I were just playing around. Sorry. I am very respected Wikipedia user. Check my user page and contributions. I will remove the warning from my talk page because it is ruining my image, and I will vote for your Wikipedia featured page (and I will explain the situation there) --GoOdCoNtEnT 03:03, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Shadow/1.0[edit]

Have you been following the tracklist matter on the Shadow FAC? I could use your input. Ryu Kaze 11:15, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

I'd really like to get one of our Final Fantasy pages into Wikipedia 1.0. I've been reading the requirements for nomination, and while none of them are Core Topics, several are FA, which may be enough to qualify. At the least, if they passed nomination in 0.5 but weren't deemed worthy of inclusion on the basis of importance alone, they'd earn a held nomination placement to be used in a later version. Ryu Kaze 13:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, dear T![edit]

Thank you, dear Tyler :) and thank you for the great pointers, by the way! Rest assured I'll follow them by heart. In fact, I am starting to perceive a pattern behind my admin inclinations - that is, much closer to the kind that works in the shadows like CSCWEM, than an AN/I speaker... ;) Oh yeah, hun, the talk page backlog is starting to kill me, and I'm still stubborn enough to go through a RfA thanks spam list... I know, don't say it - I'm nuts ;) but you know me well enough, don't you, T? ;) Seriously, dear - as soon as the movement at my talk page gets a little lower, I'd really like to ask you a few questions regarding admin stuff in which your guidance will be invaluable. Can I claim a few minutes of your time when I'm done... please? :) Have a great hug, T! Phaedriel The Wiki Soundtrack! - 03:52, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Pamde[edit]

Why not? I'll go ahead and close the peer review and nominate it at FAC. Dmoon1 05:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Alright, its ready. Dmoon1 05:27, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

s versus z[edit]

Hi—thanks for your little addition to my 2a page. The use of "s" in "ise" and its two variants is maximised just about everywhere except the US and Canada nowadays. A few stalwarts in the UK are holding out.  :-)

Tony 07:19, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

At the bottom[edit]

Sorry. I always click the "last edit" thing when I get a notice. I'll toss them down here from now on.

And I guess you're probably right. They'd want something that felt complete, and the main FF article is the only one that could probably qualify, and it's somewhat... unlikely. Ryu Kaze 11:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Peer review[edit]

Oh, thy mighty editor, I was hoping you could have a quick glimpse (as not to detract too much from your other interests) at Gradius V and perhaps point out anything obvious that could benefit from some attention? Cheers Combination 12:56, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

West Liberty Foods[edit]

Thank you for all of your feedback. I think this is a lot more than I was expecting there to be to deal with. It will probably take me some time to address all of this. Thank you though for your time.--Dekkanar 13:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Putnam FAC... war... WP:REVIEW... armageddon... thing from hell[edit]

What the hell did I miss? o.o Goddamn. I didn't even notice the FAC conflagration that has been building up, but this is absolutely the most stupid thing I have ever seen on Wikipedia. This is even worse than the spoiler tag arguments. Ryu Kaze 15:06, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

fluff[edit]

Deckiller—Have I said something that offended you? I can't recall what you're referrring to. Tony 17:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

In that case, I'm relieved! There's so much poison around at the moment, I didn't want to feel I'd pushed any your way. Tony 17:19, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Did you see this AfD?[edit]

Wondered if you saw Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Runescape Scoring? Feel free to add your own input. ;) --Andeh 21:37, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Why did you delete this?[edit]

I am new to Wiki, and i am trying to create a page. I don't understand the Alpha Rho Omega wiki was deleted. It seems like there are several other similar pages out there. Examples include Sigma Phi Epsilon, Alpha Delta Gamma, etc... Please help me understand why it was deleted.

NO KIDDING IT WAS COPIED, IT WAS COPIED FROM THE DAMN HOMEPAGE OF THAT ORGANIZATION!!!! I HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DO THAT AS I AM ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE GROUP.

So what do i need to do to get the same content on Wiki, BTW... it was also copied from word document on my computer, as well as printed manuals that about 70 of our members have. It is the standard history of our organization, of course it is going to be the same as it is on our website. Do i just need to change 1 word or something?

This is straight from the copywrite violation page..... Some cases will be false alarms. For example, if the contributor was in fact the author of the text that is published elsewhere under different terms, that does not affect their right to post it here under the GFDL.

For us laypeople, WTF does this mean "Well, you have to word it to make sure it adheres to our manual of style and the style of prose we use. After that, then it's just a question of notability."

So please explain to me what the heck you mean by "notability" ....? I am so confused... especially when i can pull up tons of pages of similar organizations...

So again, all i need to do is fix the wording to fit the style of Wiki, and the i can protest the deletion.... But why is it deemed not notable, if there are many other wikis from similar organizations....

This is all a crock of sh** , I understand the style of prose, that is doable, in that case the text would not be copied it would be reworked in the wiki style, but as for notable. You have no basis other that it is based on opinion. There are other wikis in the same genre that i could very easy say are just as notable or not notable, but for some reason they still exist. What a crock, if you are going to enforce it, do it for all wikis the same. What BS.....

Hello.............. What up with the notable BS .... I am sure we are just as notable as any other Greek Organziation on wiki, especially since i did not even get to write the last 5 years of the history that tell off APO coming part of Sigma Phi Epsilon, which is that largest Greek organization on the planet. There is no way you can tell me that "Notability" is purley based on opinion, and frankly that sucks...
