Roberto Fiebig García-Colín (Mexican-German born 1971 in Mexico City) is an international entrepreneur, businessman and investment banker. Roberto currently serves as the Founder and President of Tigre Capital[1], co-founder of TXMX.us[2] and Chief Investment Officer of the Hayek Foundation.[3]

Career[edit]

Mr. Fiebig is the President and CEO of Tigre Capital, a boutique investment bank with a global network of Asian, European and Mexican investors and focus on Private Equity and Real Estate investments. Tigre Capital was founded in 2013 and is on track to become the largest Private Equity fund of its kind focused on Latin America. Assets under Management will exceed $1 billion USD by the end of 2016, and over $3B by 2017.

Mr. Fiebig has become an expert speaker on the development of the Private Equity industry in Latin America and its economic and social impact on specific cities. He is also the co-founder of TXMX.us and Chief Investment Officer of the Hayek Foundation.

Prior to founding Tigre Capital, Mr. Fiebig worked in a number of Fortune 50 companies in C-Level roles at an international level. He was the CEO of ClimbTech, a leader in design and manufacturing for Fall Protection, Rope Access, and Climbing products, that he grew 10 fold in 4 years[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. He was also the founder of Austin Management Partners, a boutique private equity firm providing growth capital to small and medium-sized businesses, as well as consulting and business expansion services. He is also a partner at Saguaro Partners, a restaurant holding company with 9 units in Austin, TX.

Prior to co-founding Austin Management Partners, Mr. Fiebig spent 9 years at Dell in a number of Finance, Marketing and Strategy leadership roles. Prior to joining Dell, he worked as a consultant at A.T. Kearney in Berlin, Germany. Before this, he spent 6 years at Hoechst Celanese in Mexico City, where he held various corporate finance roles.

Education[edit]

Mr. Fiebig earned his M.B.A. with distinction from Wharton School of Business, at University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance. He was also a Ringe scholar and president of the Trap and Skeet club at Wharton. Additionally, Mr. Fiebig also earned his M.A. in International Studies from the Lauder Institute, at University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Fiebig graduated top of his class, Cum Laude from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (I.T.E.S.M.) with a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and was captain of the swimming team.

Early Life & Ancestry[edit]

Roberto Walter Fiebig García-Colín was born on December 25th 1971 at 12.00 pm (noon). He is the son of Rosa Maria García-Colín Notholt and Horst Walter Fiebig Trauwitz. Roberto has two sisters, Karin Elizabeth Fiebig García-Colín born March 13th 1960, and Monika Ilse Fiebig García-Colín born May 23rd 1961.

Maternal Family History[edit]

Rosa Maria García-Colín Notholt was born on September 17th, 1934. Rosa is the daughter of Elizabeth Notholt Klosterman and Alfonso García-Colín Carrera-Iriarte. Dr. Alfonso García-Colín has the following academic credentials that are notable:

Dr. Leopoldo García-Colín’s brother and Roberto’s great uncle is Leopoldo García-Colín, widely considered one of the greatest mathematicians in Mexican history. Both Alfonso and Leopoldo, had a brother named Nicolas and a sister named Rosario. Their mother was Rosario Carrera Iriarte and Nicolas García-Colín, who was an entrepreneur and inventor of the first pharmaceutical application of plants on an industrial scale.

Paternal Family History[edit]

Roberto’s father, Horst Walter Fiebig Trauwitz, was born May 12th, 1934 and was one of the earliest graduates of the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (I.T.E.S.M.). With a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Horst he was also a Master Carpenter. He was son to Ilse Sofia Trauwitz, born February 25th, 1912 in Dresden, Germany, and of Alvine Marie and Albert Trauwitz both of Dresden Germany, founders of Jena Glass in Mexico in 1902. Roberto’s grandfather was Walter Fiebig, born March 21st, 1911 in Berlin, Germany. Walter was a multinational executive who brought Schering-Plough to Cuba before Socialism and then to Mexico.

Languages and Citizenship[edit]

A native of Mexico City, Mr. Fiebig is also a German and US citizen, holding native level proficiency in Spanish, German and English.

Freemasonry[edit]

Mr. Fiebig was initiated an an Ancient And Accepted Freemason (A.A.F.M.) when he was 17 years old. He became a Master Mason in 1994 and has actively practiced Freemasonry ever since. Mr. Fiebig is a very active and internationally known Freemason. He is a member of the National Mexican Rite. He incorporates Masonic principles at the investment level and especially at the management level via all of his executives. He is the youngest Grand Master in the history of Freemasonry. His Grandfather was the Grand Master of Mexico. His Master Mason conditions of satisfaction are always being implemented via his Mission. Mr. Fiebig’s Mission is to help others ignite and discover their inner power to generate prosperity. Personal Passions[edit]

Mr. Fiebig is very passionate about music and is an avid drummer and percussionist. He also enjoys mountain and road biking and motorcycling, and loves to spend time with his kids Emma and Niko and take them camping and hiking.
