The International Federation of Sports Chiropractic, or Federation Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS) is an international sports chiropractic organization which promotes sports chiropractic around the world. It is composed of national sports chiropractic councils from many countries such as Australia, Japan, United States, and the United Kingdom.[1]

FICS has developed a post-graduate professional qualification in sports chiropractic,[2] the International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD) which is a requirement for a chiropractor to participate as a FICS sports chiropractor at an international event.[3][4]. FICS has promoted the participation of chiropractors in sports medicine teams, and has organized chiropractors to provide treatment at many national and international sporting events including the winter and summer Olympics.[5][4]

FICS was formed in 1986, and has its headquarters in the Maison du Sport Internationale in Lausanne, Switzerland.[5] It also maintains an administrative office in Toronto, Canada at the World Federation of Chiropractic. The current President of FICS is Dr. Roland Noirat, and past presidents include Dr. Stephen Press (founder), Dr. Noel Patterson, Dr. David Pierson, and Dr. Daniele Bertamini. [6]

FICS is a member of the Associations' Board of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), as well as being an associate member of international sports accrediting agency SportAccord.[7][8]
