Reviews[edit]

Jayne Nelson of SFX gave a mixed-to-positive review of the episode giving it a score of 3.5 stars out of 5. Commenting that Sonya's stealing of pituitary glands is cliché and noting that her only character trait is that she is ruthless. She also noted that the scene with Carlos and Kiera in the morgue appeared rather underplayed as both had fairly normal reactions to the holes in the backs of the deceaseds' heads. On the more positive side she liked how Kiera's and Alec's relationship was growing and enjoyed the fight scene between Curtis and Carlos to be great, although again she commented on the clichés the writers are using, this time with Carlos being knocked out just before Kiera uses her Super Suit to defeat Curtis.[2]

Chuck Francisco of Mania was critical of the episode, commenting on both the lack of major plot development into the mysteries of the show and the odd advertisement placement on the part of Syfy who placed the commercial break in a different place to where they were intended to be placed. He also mentioned that the episode concentrated on the more boring side of the show, comparing it to other shows like Castle. On the other hand, he explained that as the de-facto lead of Liber8, Travis, was dying, it gave the other characters in the group a chance to shine, most notably Kellog who demonstrated his abilities to manipulate others and initiate a series of confidence schemes. Overall he stated that the episode was better than the previous two by a hair.[4]

Keavy of DM Fiat gave the episode a positive review, calling it the "best [one] yet", praising it for being "smart, funny, thought provoking and genre savvy" and showing that the series has potential to go on and become another "Syfy’s surprise powerhouse".[5] Gerard McGarry from UnrealityTV gave a mixed review of the episode, commenting that the fight scenes were becoming repetive in setting over the course of the episodes (although he omitted the final standoff between Curtis, Kiera and Carlos) as well as on the fact that the police department accepted Kiera and her knowledge of Liber8 without looking further into the matter. However he explained that the character of Kellog was growing to be quite an interesting character who was able to set up an elborate scheme that led to the final standoff and Curtis being taken out of the equation permanently.[6]
