Studied physics at the Technical University of Munich. Diploma thesis at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich at the chair of Theodor W. Hänsch in the field of Quantum optics. Doctorate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive testing in Saarbrücken in the field of Thermography. Since 2010 working as an expert for non-destructive testing in industry (development and qualification of UT and NDT methods and equipment). Since 2015 CEO of an independent consulting company for NDT.

Honorary member of the non-profit organizations German Society for Nondestructive Testing (DGZfP) and the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

Chairman of the DGZfP Subcommittee "Interfaces and Documentation", former Chairman of the DGZfP Subcommittee "Automated Ultrasonic Testing", Vice Chairman of the DGZfP Committee ZfP 4.0 and the ASNT Committee NDE 4.0. Chair of the International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing (ICNDT) Specialist International Group (SIG) NDE 4.0 and the European Federation for Non-Destructive Testing (EFNDT) Working Group 10.
