Dietrich Rueschemeyer Dietrich Rueschemeyer (1930-), Professor of Sociology Emeritus and Charles C. Tillinghast Jr. Professor of International Studies Emeritus at Brown University, specializes in social theory and comparative historical research. He taught at the University of Cologne, Dartmouth College, and the University of Toronto before coming to Brown University. He was co-founder of the Center for the Comparative Study of Development of Brown, which was a predecessor of the Watson Institute.
