Nubyen is a successful beauty, cosmetics and fashion brand based in the UK and launched in 2016.
The founder, Lola, whose parents are from Lagos, Nigeria, was born and raised in London. She was told by a teacher, "she had her head in the clouds and would never amount to anything." Despite being dyslexic she went on to study Medicine at Kings College, London. After completing medical school and training with leading cosmetic surgeons at Emory, Atlanta, she took a year out to pursue a life long passion for fashion photography. She was inspired by the insecurities women face that lead them to seek cosmetic surgery, also by recognition of the diversity and shift in fashion norms. She launched 'Nubyen' in 2016 with her husband. Nubyen's first product was Nubyen Nude, a globally successful lip augmentation gloss. The company has since diversified from cosmetics into fashion and it's gross turnover has grown 4000% in the last year. It's been featured in Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar.
