Patient Flow Patient Flow is the discipline of ensuring that patients journey through a healthcare system as efficiently, safely and quickly as possible. The aim is to ensure that the patient moves from referral to the post discharge phase safely, efficiently and quickly. Patient Flow is receiving increased focus as healthcare systems see increasing demand, reducing budgets and patients needs and treatments become increasingly complex[1].
