Cultural Gateway means a kind mechanism of prohibition and promotion in individuals' entry into the three levels of Culture Cycle, such as interaction, institution, and ideas. From this definition, it is recognized that the cultural gateway can be divided into the "cultural gateways at interaction level", "cultural gateways at institutional level" , and "cultural gateways at ideas level". Across the three different levels of cultural gateways, the difficulty of the culture gateways also increases from the interaction level to the institutional level and then to the ideas level. The essential principle of cultural gateways is attributed to the dynamic change of cultural tightness and cultural looseness in a given sociocultural context.
