European Youth Parliament United Kingdom
European Youth Parliament United Kingdom is a politically unaffiliated, educational charity that works with young people across the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland. EYPUK promotes active citizenship, youth empowerment, and cultural understanding. It works mainly with Year 11 pupils in UK schools, running events at the regional and national level. Although an independent charity in its own right, EYPUK is part of a wider network organisation, the European Youth Parliament, which is active in 40 countries throughout Europe.

The European Youth Parliament was founded in 1987 by Bettina Carr-Allinson as a school project at the Lycée François-Ier in Fontainebleau. In 1991, it moved to Witney, Oxfordshire. From 2001 to 2004 the EYP encountered various financial problems and did not meet. However, on November 4, 2004, it was reborn due to an agreement between the EYP's Board of National Committees, EYP alumni and the Heinz-Schwarzkopf Foundation. The politically impartial Heinz-Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe was founded in 1971 in Hamburg. The foundation's name was changed to the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe. Since then the EYP has been overseen and supported by the Schwarzkopf-Stiftung Junges Europa and the international office is located in Berlin, Germany.
