I believe that, in general, only results in fully professional races or results achieved on the highest amateur level should be listed in palmares, similar to the criteria for athlete notability in WP:ATHLETE. To make clear which races these are, I try to make a sourced list of professional races for men's road racing. A similar list could be made for other disciplines (mountain bike, track cycling, ...). For women's road racing, less sources are available, so it becomes more complicated.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the highest organisation with respect to road cycling, so they are the main standard.

At this moment, I have added the years 1959 to 1963, 1987 and 1989 to now. The criteria that I have used so far are:

These were the highest season-long cycling competitions. Others exist or existed, for example the UCI Continental Circuits, but I have no proof of them being fully professional, and, as far as I know, a major part of the competitors there could be semi-professional.

If a race is not in the list, it does not mean that it is not professional, just that I have no source yet for it to be professional. The Tour, Giro and Vuelta from 2008 to 2009 on were still fully professional, even though they were not in the ProTour, for example.
