Water and Electricity are a dangerous combination. Increasingly over the last fifty or so years boats are looking more and more like complex electrical appliances floating in water, especially boats that live in the water and are connected to shore-power sources.

I am a newly-retired electrical engineer, now a marine professional and ABYC member and an A.C. electrified boat owner for more than forty years. I know I still haven't seen everything (because I see something new every week), but I have seen a lot including at least one near-death Electric Shock Drowning.

I'll be focusing on creating, editing, expanding and discussing topics around safety and reliability of marine electrical systems on Boats and in Marinas. Along the way I'll be touching on many other marine architectural, engineering and business topics.

Thanks for reading this!
