I am a college student. I am a writer and often make small edits for grammar or clarity. I have accounts by this name on fanfiction.net and youtube.com. I also am the administrator of two just-beginning wikis on wikia: The Writer's Workshop (a replacement for the independent Writerium) and GymnWiki (newly adopted), which needs a lot of help from people who know gymnastics or are willing to do the busy work of copying pages from Wikipedia to start us off.

It should be clear that one of my greatest interests is anxiety, particularly selective mutism, which I have learned everything I can about. After all this reading and discussing it with sufferers, I cannot believe that it is anything but severe social and/or communication anxiety and do defend this position. I pay so much attention to the selective mutism page because nobody else does, and incorrect information pops up there too frequently. (This is mainly cultural references, though sometimes more serious things. My absolute favorite addition was the probable vandalism saying, with a blank reference, that 99% of selectively mute people grow up to be dyslexic - not even 99% of them have social phobia, let alone any other similarities!) I do not think it is a very good page, but I have already spent two or three hours searching for reliable sources online and had little success, so I very much want an expert to help out on the page.

I'm beginning to think that "selective mutism discussion page" is an oxymoron (in a different way from "selective mutism talk page"). I'll see if anyone answers my posts one of these days.
