Mark Favermann (born September 24, 1947) urban designer and artist, Mark Favermann specializes in using the tools of art and architecture as well as industrial and experiential design to create distinctive community signatures. Over the years, he has served as a consultant to DisneyWorld, Universal Studios, The Museum of Fine Arts, the Boston Red Sox, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Harvard University as well as private developers. His work focuses on the notions of a Sense of Arrival and a Sense of Place. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Washington & Lee University and his Masters from the School of Design at Harvard University. Mark was a Research Fellow at the former Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT. A list of selected public art projects:

• Commissioned by a prominent developer to create a master plan of street furniture as public art elements for a major new apartment complex (2022-23).

• Designed “Bottle Bench” for installation in Easthampton, MA (2021).

• Designed “Fishbench’” for proposed site in Martha’s Vineyard, MA (2021).

• Chosen to create three loveseats for HarborArts, East Boston, MA (2021).

• Created street furniture (benches, bike racks, etc.) for Chelmsford, MA (2020).

• Created sculptured gateways and benches for ArtWalk, Hull, MA (2019).

• Won competition to create three sculptured animal benches (Creature Comfort) for Natick Common, Town of Natick, MA (2018).

• Created four sculptured kiosks for Town of Wakefield, MA (2017).

• Designed Solar-powered bench for Downtown Crossing, Boston, MA (2014).

• Created neighborhood identifier for Brighton, neighborhood, Boston (2009).

• Commissioned to created Gateway for soccer field, Brookline, MA (2007).

• Commissioned to created “Birds of Audubon Circle” gateway/neighborhood identifier by City of Boston (2005).

• Won national competition to create “Blue Bench” for Springfield, MA Business Improvement District (2003).)
