ErgoSum88 (also known as John) is a truck driver who was born in Arkansas. He currently resides in Bryant, Arkansas.

Commonly known on the internet as "Ergo," John has used this username since 1995.[citation needed] John has an excellent sense of humor, and never takes life too seriously. In case you were wondering, "ErgoSum" does indeed refer to phrase "Cogito ergo sum," made famous by René Descartes. When composing an article, John makes every available effort to cite reliable sources for verifiable facts and thinks more people should do the same.

Early Years[edit]

A potent strain of Cannabis sativa.

John was born in Arkansas to his deaf mother and blind father. Luckily, he was not born with any impairments of his own. He was raised in a loving family for most of his adolescence. When John was about 16 years old, his father succumbed to schizophrenia and was reduced to living in a nursing home.

John was pretty antisocial for most of his teen years, and preferred to read a good book rather than going out and getting drunk and impregnating teenage girls. Some of his favorite authors were Carl Sagan, Arthur C. Clarke, and Isaac Asimov. He went on to graduate from Jacksonville High School and from then on, things started to change.

His friends introduced him to the pleasures of marijuana, and he realized how much of what he had been taught was actually just a bunch of propaganda. This opened his mind and enabled his rethinking of everything he ever thought was true, resulting in his conversion from agnosticism to atheism.

Adulthood[edit]

He worked in various restaurants as a server and dabbled in telemarketing. Upon breaking up with the mother of his child, he decided to move to St. Petersburg (near Tampa, Florida) and reveled in life as a beach bum.

Recent Years[edit]

At 27 years old, John decided that he needed to settle down and find something useful to do with his life. After perusing the local classifieds, he happened upon an ad for free commercial driver's license training.

As a truck driver, John has traveled to 46 of the 48 contiguous states (the only exceptions being Maine and North Dakota), Washington D.C., and two Canadian provinces (Ontario and Quebec). He has also been to Hawaii and the Bahamas while on vacation. He has yet to make it to Alaska.

While in Hawaii, he stayed at the Halekulani Hotel which was the greatest hotel he has ever stayed in. It wasn't so much the beautiful decor, or the perfect weather, or the awesome view, but a combination of all those things. John took a helicopter tour of Oahu and it was the greatest adventure ever, he would recommend it to anyone. John also took some of the most amazing pictures and several of them are being used in articles.

Views[edit]

John is a radical atheist and a staunch skeptic. He is rather obsessed with the connections between the Freemasons, the Knights Templar, Gnostic beliefs, and with conspiracy theories in general. However, he does not buy into most of it and thinks it only makes for a good story. Although false flag operations such as Operation Northwoods does make him think twice about certain things.

John thinks that people take their religious beliefs too seriously, and that the world would be a better place without all the wars and strife caused by fundamentalism. He has a vested interest in religion, and is amused with alternative or parody religions. He considers most religions to be nothing more than glorified cults, and thinks the world would be better off without them. He would identify his political party as Democrat, however, they are not nearly liberal enough (socially) for him. A more accurate affiliation would be Libertarian. He is staunchly opposed to criminalizing victimless crimes such as prostitution and recreational drug use, and thinks the war on (some) drugs is an immense waste of time and resources that would be put to better use in apprehending real criminals such as murderers and rapists.

T.V. and Movies[edit]

John enjoys surrealist, absurdist, and existentialist humor. He also enjoys movies about time travel and dystopian versions of the future. His favorite movies are Hobo with a Shotgun, Memento, May, Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, and THX 1138.
