User:Errantsignal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Errantsignal is a very occasional editor on Wikipedia who is most interested in writing or improving articles related to software and software development, anime, and geek/otaku culture. He is easily frightened by veteran wikipedians, and may be found hiding under his desk after making large edits to a page.

To avoid confusion, this user is not related to a YouTube channel with a similar name.

About the Errant[edit]

Errantsignal knows a number of languages including English, C++, Japanese, Java, Jargon and nerdspeak. He has been known to read the Japanese Wikipedia, but is too afraid to edit it. You can ask him if you need help translating something, but there may be someone who is better at it than Errantsignal.

Errantsignal lives somewhere in Canada, but he is not familiar with very many traditionally Canadian things, like hockey, maple syrup, or geese. He lived and went to school in Tokyo for awhile and can speak Japanese with some proficiency, and read it with somewhat less proficiency.

Errantsignal has a master's degree in computer science and is also an obligated engineer. He will probably not fix your computer or help you with your math homework unless you're really desperate, but you can ask him about coding, digital design, microcontrollers, engineering education or things like that. Errantsignal likes being asked questions about things that he knows about.

Errantsignal is very awkward to talk to but he is sorry about that. He's usually not being awkward on purpose.

Media Familiarity[edit]

Television[edit]

Errantsignal does not really watch TV, but he has nearly every episode of Star Trek, and expects to continue to do so in the future. He knows entirely too many random pointless facts about the franchise.

Anime[edit]

Errantsignal is more than a little familiar with Japanese anime, having seen more than 400 anime series to completion, and having partially watched at least 400 more. He also watches a lot of VTubers.

Table-top Roleplaying Games[edit]

Errantsignal has an obsessive level of expertise at Dungeons and Dragons (primarily the 3.0 and 3.5 editions) and Pathfinder, with over a decade of experience playing and running such games.
