(I've made a first pass of dab terms I strongly approve of. Thinking on some others. I used a pretty obscure template from {{Template:Checking}} to indicate my approval; other editors wishing to indicate approval might want to select a different template so that our "votes" can be differentiated. General rules[edit]

All disambiguator qualifiers must be in singular, not in plural form. Eg correct is (bacterium), not (bacteria).
Important is to find suitable rank of disambiguator qualifier (eg if you have a wasp genus, then eg naming "Venturia (arthropod)" or "Venturia (insect)" is not acceptable; correct is "Venturia (wasp)").
When dealing with supergeneric ranks, then disambiguator qualifiers should remain the same. Eg instead of Macroglossinae (Lepidoptera), we should use the name Macroglossinae (butterfly).
When dealing with the names of categories a la "Taxon_name (genus)" there are big mess. Logical should be that the article name and respective category name should coincide.

Animals[edit]

Comment 1: to easify linking, probably only to use only one disambiguator qualifier: (echinoderm). (genus) = 100+, only allowed in exceptional cases. Exceptions include cases where a genus name and common name are the same (hence "Mantis (genus)" rather than "Mantis (mantis)", or "Boa (genus)" rather than "Boa (snake)" as Boa refers to various groups of snakes).
