Dani McClain is an American reporter and author. Her work centers on race and reproductive health.
Career[edit]
McClain was a staff reporter at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,[1] and a contributor to CityBeat in Cincinnati.[2] As of 2023, McClain was a contributing writer at The Nation.
In 2014, McClain was recognized by the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association with an award for Excellence in Online Journalism.[3] In 2018, McClain won a James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism for her writing on the experience of being Black and pregnant.[4]
In 2020 and 2021, McClain was the writer in residence at the Cincinnati Public Library.[5]
Personal life[edit]
McClain is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.[6] McClain attended Columbia University, where she earned a bachelor's degree and a M.S. from the School of Journalism. She lives in Cincinnati.[5]
