The Mozilla Foundation has several official affiliates around the world to provide localization versions of their projects and services to users from different countries. All of these are affiliated with the Mozilla Foundation, but are independent organizations.

Mozilla Europe[edit]

Mozilla Europe is a non-profit organization to help promote and deploy Mozilla products in Europe.

Mozilla Europe was founded on February 17, 2004. The organization's headquarters are in Paris.

The organization is run by its board of directors, which is made up of Tristan Nitot (chair) and Peter Van der Beken, Zbigniew Braniecki, Pascal Chevrel, Axel Hecht and Olivier Meunier. It is funded by donations.

Languages[edit]

Mozilla Europe web site is currently available in 23 languages which are Albanian, Basque, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Turkish, and Ukrainian.

Mozilla Japan[edit]

Mozilla Japan is a limited liability organization to help promote and deploy Mozilla products in Japan.

Mozilla Japan was founded on August 18, 2004.

The organization is run by its board of directors, which is made up of Hideo Aiso of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Hideyuki Tokuda of Keio University, Nobuo Kita, Hideki Sunahara of the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Satoko Takita (chair) and Joichi Ito of the Mozilla Foundation.

As well as promoting Mozilla in Japan, the organization is also responsible for the Japanese localisation of Mozilla products, which includes translating and customizing them for a Japanese audience.

Foxkeh[edit]

Foxkeh (フォクすけ, fokusuke) is a mascot created by Mozilla Japan to help introduce Firefox to new users in Japan. Foxkeh is a fox kit with a flame for a tail - a "firefox". The name combines the English word "fox" with the suffix "suke" (すけ; 助, 輔, 介) found in some Japanese male names. Team Vox is currently running a Vox Banner Contest featuring Foxkeh.[1]

Mozilla China[edit]

Mozilla China is a non-profit organization to help promote and deploy Mozilla products in China.

Mozilla China was founded on March 4, 2005.

The organization is co-chaired by Dr. Li Gong of Sun (China) Engineering and Research Institute (ERI) and Mr. Mingshu Li of Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS), both of whom will sit on the steering committee with Mitchell Baker, president of the Mozilla Foundation.

Mozilla China will build a Chinese version of the Mozilla web site, provide technical and architectural direction for Mozilla development in China, organize and operate discussion forums, and develop Mozilla source code in China.
