The Plot is an upcoming American television series starring Mahershala Ali. It is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel of the same name from 2021, and will be adapted by Abby Ajayi. It will be released on Hulu.[1]

Synopsis[edit]

Jake is a struggling author looking to revive his career. He commits an act of literary theft that changes his life, and then he must protect the life he has built when he's threatened by someone who knows his secret.[1]

Production[edit]

On November 4, 2021, it was reported that Mahershala Ali would star in an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel The Plot, with Abby Ajayi onboard to write the series.[2] It was announced on January 10, 2022, as an 8-episode limited series from Endeavor Content for Onyx Collective on Hulu.[1][3] Executive producers include Ali, Mimi Valdés, Amatus Karim Ali, Layne Eskridge, Kristen Campo, Hanff Korelitz, and Ajayi, who will also serve as showrunner.[1]

It was filmed in Atlanta and New York from February 23, 2023, through July 13, 2023.[4]
