The US Open Wheelchair women's singles championship is an annual tennis event that is being held since 2005 as part of the US Open tournament. The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts[b] at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows – Corona Park, New York City.[2][3]

The US Open is played during a two-week period in late August and early September and is chronologically the last of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the tennis year.[4] The United States Tennis Association is the national body that organizes this event.

History[edit]

For much of its existence this tournament has clashed with the Paralympics every four years. The 2021 event was the first time that the Paralympics and this tournament have taken place in the same year. In most of the years there have been eight players with two of them seeded. In 2022 there were 16 players with four seeded.[5]
