I am also a devoted Naval Historian that has written ships histories, both on a volunteer and paid level, for 30 years.

If it floats (or even sinks!) I'm interested. I have always believed the axiom that a ship is called "she" because they cost so much to keep in paint and powder. It isn't Politically Correct, but is VERY accurate!
