Abdul Gani (Indian journalist)

Abdul Gani is a Guwahati based freelance journalist who writes on a wide variety of subjects on northeast India. At present Abdul Gani has been associated with The Times of India (Guwahati) [1] and several other organizations. Among others, he writes for Al Jazeera, Anadolu Agency, The Citizen [2] and The News Mill [3].

His report on Kokrajhar violence appeared in The Guardian [4]. In 2017, Abdul Gani was awarded the prestigious Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitisation for the 2015-16 for Best Web Feature on conservation work by Purnima Devi Barman. [5] [6]

Besides reporting conflicts and gender issues in Assam, Abdul Gani has also covered several international sporting events.
