Beaverdam Creek Reservoir

Beaverdam Creek Reservoir is a 350 acre water supply reservoir located in eastern Loudoun County and was owned and operated by the city of Fairfax. The reservoir, as well as all other water assets owned by Fairfax in Loudoun have since been purchased by Loudoun Water[1].

History[edit]

The Town of Fairfax, in 1800 initially used individual wells, then transitioning to a larger, 305 foot deep well for the town. As population and demand for water increased, Fairfax built a pipeline to Falls Church, providing supply from the Potomac River, as well as damming Goose Creek and building another 22 mile pipeline. The Goose Creek Reservoir was built to hold 325 gallons, but due to siltation, it's capacity was decreased.
