Wooly Fair new article content ... Wooly Fair is an annual summer art carnival based in Providence, RI. The event began in 2005 at the Steel Yard, an industrial arts nonprofit located in Providence's valley district, and is now in its seventh year. The event is notable as a platform for local bands as much as it is a venue for regional visual artists to create temporary participatory installations. The event was founded by Sam White and draws on a broad base of Wooly volunteers for its creation. In its six year, the event had as its centerpiece a crowd funded, multi-tiered pyramid called the Flower Tower which hosted over a hundred pocket gardens planted during Wooly Fair that were distributed throughout Providence after the event.
