Toshi Butlin (born 19 February 2005) is an Autralian rugby union player who plays as a wing for Section Paloise in the Top 14 competition.[1]

Playing career[edit]

Toshi Butlin was born on 19 February 2005 in Australia. He holds dual nationality, being of both Australian and Japanese descent.[2] Butlin began playing rugby league at the age of 7. At 12, he transitioned to rugby union and joined Brisbane State High School's rugby program.[3] He played in the school's First XV team for two years, competing in rugby tournaments in Queensland. Toshi Butlin then joined the Queensland Reds Academy.[4] Toshi Butlin, in addition to his rugby career, has demonstrated his athleticism in track and field. Notably, he recorded a time of 10.53 seconds in the 100 metres.[5]

In 2023, Butlin decided to pursue an opportunity with Section Paloise in Pau, France, opting for the chance to train and play in the Top 14.[6][7]
