Dr. Anvar A. M. is a renowned Ayurveda Physician . He is known for his expertise in Neurology and Neuromuscular Diseases. He is the Founder and Chairman of Punarnava Ayurveda Hospitals, a chain of Ayurveda hospitals located in Kerala.

Early life[edit]

Dr A M Anvar was born into a traditional muslim family at KollamKerala, to  Ahmad Kunju Lebba and Noorjahan . His formal education in ayurveda was at Government Ayurveda College trivandrum , one of the notable institutions in the country, and Masters from RGUHS Karnataka after which he started Kripa Hospital in 1995 and got involved in the incorporating modern diagonostic methods medical science withayurveda . He was instrumental in wide spreading the traditional Indian system to Europe and middle east,  His participation in Different forums and seminars have received many appreciations 

Career[edit]

In 2004, Dr. Anvar found the Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital, the first of its kind established in Ayurveda. The Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital is an NABH accredited, ISO 9001:2008 certified hospital with six branches in Kerala. Dr. Anvar believes that the Ayurveda can successfully intervene in the cases of lifestyle disorders and in arresting the progression and improving the quality of life in autoimmune disorders which modern health sciences find it difficult to manage[1].

The kind of treatments at Punarnava include Njavarakzhi, Sirodhara, Vasthi, Sirovasthi, Udvarthanam, Abhayangam, Dhanyamladhara, Choornapindasweda, Jambeerapindasweda, Kadeevasthi, Ksheeradhara, Ksheeradhooma, Lepa, Mamsakizhi, Pathrapotala Sweda, Pichu, Pizhichil, Shashtikapinda sweda, Sirodhara, Siropichu, Sirovasthy, Thakradhara, Thalam, Thalapothichil, Udwarthana and Valukasweda. Dr. Anvar is also the founder and Chief Physician of Kripa Ayurvedic Hospital, Karunagapally. He is also the president of Continuing Ayurveda Awareness Program (CAAP) International Chapter and the Chief Ayurvedic Physician at KIMS Ayurveda Research Center, Thiruvananthapuram. He is the state Vice President of Ayurveda Hospital Management Association, also the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of Ayurveda Hospital Management Association.[3]

Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital[edit]

The word 'Punarnava' means 'New Again'. The hospital has all together six branches in Kerala with top-notch facilities and accommodation. The Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital is known for both general health therapies as well as for a wide range of specialized aliments and therapies like Panchakarma treatment, Rejuvenation therapy, Body purification therapy, Body immunization program, Slimming program, Fem 40 care, Beauty care program, Stress management program, Alcoholic de-addiction program, and so on.

The Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital is an ISO 9001-2008 certified hospital. The other prestigious accreditations and certifications include, the Green Leaf (Highest certification by the Kerala Tourism Department), the NABH accreditation (By the Quality Council of India), the Central Government Health Scheme (By the Government of India), and the HDFC Ergo, Raksha TPA and Chola MS for cashless insurance facility, along with reimbursement facility with almost all the leading insurance companies. The Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital is the only Ayurveda hospital in India to have all the above accreditations and certifications simultaneously.

Continuing Ayurveda Awareness Program (CAAP)[edit]

The Continuing Ayurveda Awareness Program (CAAP) is an initiative by the Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital, inaugurated by the then Central Health Minister Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss. The CAAP is a non-profit making venture strictly formed to promote the awareness of curative aspects of Ayurveda and its importance in present day life[4].
