Clear Ventures is a venture capital firm located in Silicon Valley. The firm was established in 2016 and manages an initial $121 million in investment capital.[1][2]

The firm was founded by Christopher Jeffery Rust[3] and Rajeev Madhavan[4]. The two founders invested in more than 65 companies together prior to founding Clear Ventures. With nearly 60 years of combined company building and technology venture investment experience, Madhavan and Rust came together to fund new companies disrupting business technology and services.[5][6]

The team’s venture capital exits cover many innovation cycles and include seed/early-stage investments in Apigee[7], GoPro[8], Virident[9], Yume[10], Magma[11], Groupon[12], Dune (acquired by Broadcom)[13], Mellanox[14], LVL7 (acquired by Broadcom)[15], Syndesis (acquired by Subex Azure)[16], Telera (acquired by Alcatel)[17], VxTel (acquired by Intel)[18], LogicVision[19], Ambit (acquired by Cadence)[20], SwitchOn (acquired by PMC Sierra)[21][22], Avanex[23], and Abrizio (acquired by PMC Sierra).[24][25][26] The first 35 VC exits, including eight IPOs and 25 acquisitions have produced $52B of market capitalization.[6]

Clear Ventures typically invests in early stage startups primarily located in the San Francisco Bay Area. It focuses on investing in cloud, mobile, business technology and services, Internet of things, and data companies, with the goal of guiding them through their early stages. Clear’s current portfolio includes Atmosic[27], Arrcus[28], Reflektion[29], Robin Systems[30], Swift Navigation[31], Vera Security[32], Waterguru[33], and Wootcloud[34] . The Clear co-founders are also early-stage venture investors in GoEuro, LivSpace[35], Peel, Toast, and Zerto.
