Eden was born on October 28, 1999 to Nicole Duncan-Smith and Gregory L. Smith, Jr. at the Long Island Jewish Hospital. When she was born the family lived with her paternal grandmother, Marlene Smith in Jamaica, Queens in a large co-op called Rochadale Village. Because of her family's firm religious beliefs, Eden was christened at 5 months in Philadelphia, PA at her maternal family's church, Ressurection Baptist Church. Her god-parents are Michael and Kendall MacAuther and Rohan Marley and Lauryn Hill. When she was 6 months, the family moved to Crown Heights. The apartment was across from the Brooklyn Children's Musuem. Shortly after the family moved to Brooklyn, the Smith family joined St. Paul Community Baptist Church under the influences of a family friend, Erika Munroe and under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Ray Youngblood. It was there that Eden not only learned her love for God but developed the foundation of her artistic abilities through the Sacred Arts Ministries.

Her mother, Nicole Duncan-Smith, worked for Russell Simmons, a Hip-Hop mogul. Her father, Greg Smith, worked in various music studios as an engineer and producer. Thus very early on, Eden was exposed to the entertainment world.
Career[edit]
Eden made her Broadway debut as the character Raynell Maxon in the 2010 revival of August Wilson’s Fences featuring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. Her first impression on Broadway was one only Eden could leave, reviewers were captivated by the young starlet:

[3] By the time, Eden was 2 she had already started taking ballet lessons with at the Dance Theatre of Harlem, where she was often singled out by Master teacher and Founder Arthur Mitchell. She studied there for five years before earning a scholarship to the American Ballet Theatre in 2006 and Purelements: An Evolution in Dance.
She went on to be a featured dancer for many dance companies and productions including “Fitnah” at the Thelma Hill Performing Arts Center, The Neville Dance Company’s “Nutcracker” and the St. Paul Community Baptist Church urban nativity story, “Unto Us A Child ”and “The MAAFA Suite”.
Eden is a member of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and an honors student at the American School for Sign Language and English. In the Fall she will become a student at Mark Twain School for the Gifted and Talented.
