Gospel Songate was born in Lungthulien Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur during the Spring Season of 1991 between Laltlansang Songate and Late Lalneichawng. He was brought up in a simple and humble family with 2 brothers and sister. Right from his childhood Songate was helpful for his parents. At a very young age he was taking care of their domesticated animals like cow, pig, poultry. After his mother death in November 7, 2002, he continued his studies in a very adverse condition but never think to step back.In 2009 he passed HSLC from rural school securing 2nd division. His success was a great model for villagers as the situation in those days was completely not favourable for education, and that to get through Matric Exam was a great challenge from this place. In 2011 he cleared HSSLC from Mizoram, then he moved to Silchar to pursue Bachelor Degree at GC College, one of the top college under Assam University. In 2014 he passed degree with History Honours. He did Master Degree at Assam University, Silchar and completed the same in 2016 with 57%. Gospel Songate has been invovled in social life right from high school. From 2006 he has been holding several posts with the Hmar Students' Association from Unit level such as Information Secretary, Vice President, Adviser (Unit Level) and two terms Branch Secreatry. He has a tireless interest in writing and already published many of his works in Souvenir, Magazines and social network. He wish to work for the Hmar community and for that he's being undergoing preparedness.

He was also founding member of Tribal Forum, Silchar now called Tribal Students' Forum, Silchar in August 2015 during the great turmoil between Manipur Government and Tribal communities. Songate has a tireless interest in writing and already published many of his works in Souvenirs, Magazines and social network. He wish to work for the Hmar community and for that he's undergoing preparedness.
