Somaliland Natural resources[edit]

Somaliland has many different natural resources like wind energy, solar energy, natural gas and long coast 880km. The wind energy[1] and solar energy are available every around Somaliland. Many different regions like Maroodi-jeex, Togdheer, and Awdal use these natural resources. It is not common around the country because the country did not able to buy the materials that make these things productive. The coast of Somaliland is long coast that located many different kinds of fish. Also it has an international port, Barbara. This coast is the heart of Somaliland economy because it gets about 70% of its economy the trade they make on this port. In the same way, they rent the coast different fisher companies to make money they support the country. In 2011, investigation that group Italian made they discovered that this coast has natural gas. The previous dictatorship leader tried the dig this oil, but because of the civil war, he did not succeed to do this operation. This little country is also has our natural resources like all different kinds of all the different gemstones[2]. Majority of the East Mountains in the country have these kinds of minerals. Gemstones are not the only valuable stones located in this country. There are other different kinds like Tin, Copper, Aluminum, and others. --Haibah (talk) 05:50, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Somaliland has many natural resources such as wind energy, solar energy, natural gas and a long coast line at about 740km. Wind and solar are available all around Somaliland. Using wind and solar energies are not common in Somaliland. On February 18, 2013 Somali Star Investments began a program to help raise money to invest in future infrastructure projects centered around solar and wind energy. It is believed that Somaliland has onshore and offshore oil and natural gas reserves. The earlier dictatorship leader tried the dig this oil, but because of the civil war, he did not succeed to do this operation. This little country is also has our natural resources like all kinds of all the different gemstones. Majority of the East Mountains in the country have these kinds of minerals. Gemstones are not the only valuable stones in this country. There are other kinds like Tin, Copper, Aluminum, and others. Livestock is the backbone of the Somaliland economy. Livestock is the only natural resource that somaliland trades with other countries around the world. Sheep, camel, and cattles are shipped from the Barbera port and sent to arabian countries such as Suadi Arabia. Somaliland has mineral including uranium.
