This user page documents the basic 'codes' of Wikipedia for the benefit other wikipedians and users. This account is controlled by the user DAFMM.

Links:

'[' (x 2) and then ']' (x 2) around the word.

Put '|' after the name of Wikipedia's page title and your link title if you want it to be different.

Font:

Bold: Place 3 apostrophes around the word.

Italic: Place 2 apostrophes around the word.

Standard Quote: Place 1 apostrophe around the word.

Title: Place 2 '=' signs around the word with a space between the signs and the title name.

References:

Start off a reference with: '</>' with 'ref' in the middle after the slash.

Now write reference.

At the end put: '</>' with 'ref' after the '/' to create your reference.

Redlinks:

I am not to sure about this at the moment so if anyone does know please post it on the HandyTips talk page. However, I think that you do it like the following:

Put: '<!' and then '--' (two dashes) and then the word 'redlink' with two more dashes ('--') after it and then finally '!>'. Anything you write where the 'redlink' is written in the instructions above will be hidden and not shown on the page you edit.
