Sargeant Winter Plummer from Arizona served in the United States Army for four years and completed a year of deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006. She engaged in armed combat during her deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom and worked as a 25Q Multichannel Radio Operator for the rest of her service. Her awards from service include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2), Meritorious Unit Award, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Non-commission Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Bar (2), and Combat Action Badge. Sargeant Plummer ended her duties to care for her daughter Taylor.[1] Sargeant Plummer was murdered in her home by her husband, Sargeant Sheldon Plummer, after the couple had a dispute the night of February 19, 2010.[2] She is survived by her daughter, mother, father, three siblings, and three nephews.[1]
