WikiProject: Spoken Wikipedia[edit]

People allege that I have a good speaking voice (well, anything's better than my singing voice), and I have the necessary equipment—a microphone and Audacity, a digital audio editor—and so since 2007 I have made many contributions to Wikipedia's Spoken Wikipedia project, which coordinates the creation of narrations of articles which can then be listened to "on-the-fly" or downloaded for later use.

I tend to narrate stable Featured articles, where the prose is unlikely to change much over time. Fast-moving subject matter is something to avoid in this enterprise. I will happily accept requests for spoken articles, subject to time constraints (it is quite a time-intensive process) and not having too many awkward pronunciations!
