Helen Astrid is a singer and songwriter based in London. She is also a vocal coach and has helped thousands of people to sing from scratch. She believes that no-one is tone deaf and that we all have the ability to sing, whatever our circumstances. Here are some top tips on how to sing:

1: Believe you can do it 2: Relax. It's not possible to sing if you're tense 3: Watch yourself in the mirror; if you look right the chances are you'll sound right 4: Take several slow deep breaths before you start 4: Practice the melody first then the words 5: Remember, it can take time to get a song into your body just like an anthlete preparing for the Olympics! 6: Smile when singing - it'll make the tone of your voice more appealing 7: Have great fun singing and spread the word!
