Ranjith wijenayake was born on the 10 June 1946 ,In Colombo,Sri Lanka as the beloved son of Somathi Perera(mother) and P. Wijenayake(father)
Ranjith wijenayake got his primary education at Pannipitiya Dharmapala College and later attended to Siddhartha college and Vidyawansha monastic college Gampaha to finish his secondary education.It's renowned that in his schools days he was praised for his skills in writing literature.
After finishing his education Ranjith wijenayake found work as an assistent announcer in National Lotteries Board ,Sri Lanka.After spending half a decade working as an announcer he later joined the Sri Lankan Police force in 1971.

Ranjith wijenayake go married to Shriyalatha Rupasinghe in 1973 and had one son and a daughter.After retiring from Sri Lankan Police he devoted his life for community service by becoming a justice of peace.To this day he empowers many poets In Gampaha district by being the president of the young poets society of Siyana.He also doesn't forget to empower people who are in pursuit of nirwana.
