The Mortal Engines Quartet (published in the United States under the title The Hungry City Chronicles) is a series of four novels written by the British author Philip Reeve. The series comprises four books: Mortal Engines (published 2001), Predator's Gold (2003), Infernal Devices (2005), and A Darkling Plain (2006).
The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world with much of the plot revolving around the idea of traction cities.

In the sport of Australian rules football, a goal is scored by kicking the football between the two middle goalposts at either end of the field, and is worth six points. In the West Australian Football League (WAFL), the premier Australian rules football league, a total of 18 players have scored 500 goals or more in senior matches (not including pre-season, interstate, and exhibition matches). The overall leading goalscorer is Austin Robertson, Jr., who kicked a total of 1,211 goals in 251 games for the Subiaco Football Club between 1962 and 1974. The first player to reach the 500-goal milestone was Hugh "Bonny" Campbell, who reached the mark during the 1917. The first 1000-goal player was George Doig (pictured right), of East Fremantle, who average a record 5.50 goals per game throughout his career. No current player has kicked more than 500 goals; Chad Jones, playing for the Claremont Football Club, is the closest, having kicked a total of 328 goals since debuting in 2003.[1]
