Interiot's obsession with honey is based upon a completely false premise about bear behavior. While bears are major predators of beehives to the great consternation of beekeepers, they are seeking the brood (larvae and pupae) of the bees.
In the popular Grand Theft Auto (video game) series of videogames, the character B.J. Smith is a parody of Interiot. B.J. was a former programmer who worked on something called a "Tools Server".
Some of the products in the merchandising scene are actually disguised Transformers products. Transformers are referenced again in the movie during MegaMaid's transformation. In the commentary, Interiot states that he knew kids would get the concept while adults would not.
Interiot and some of his music featured in an episode of the cartoon series The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. The episode, entitled "Kootie Pie Rocks," premiered just as the scandal hit, prompting the producers to quickly replace the music with stock music and delete references to the band's name in reruns and home video releases.
