About me[edit]
I currently work as a Developer at Spacial SA and although the conditions are a little difficult, I am enjoying it. I am very interested in human computer interaction, am seriously fascinated by adaptive hypermedia, and am looking into writing a paper concerning responsive webdesign as adaptive design.
I completed my Bachelors in Multimedia in 2011, and am currently doing my honors in multimedia.
I love gaming, obviously, any kind of puzzle, all sorts of sci-fi and fantasy (movies and books) and I'm extremely excitable when it comes to anything multimedia. I love following trends, and am usually the first to know about something cool happening in industry, and I love speculating about what the future holds for us.
I am generally friendly, fun-loving, a bit of an adventurer, and usually very patient.
My expertise[edit]
I have extensive experience in audio streaming and know even the technical details behind it. I have started working with Triton Digital on many of their projects, including advert injection in streams. We are involved in all aspects of online streaming, from media management, to streaming to advertising and monetizing online radio stations. Our software, SAM Broadcaster was also the requested streaming software for this year's (2013) SXSW convention. It is very challenging, especially because we deal with hobbyists and big radio broadcasters. We recently reached one million listeners, a really big milestone for us.
I have also been very involved in designing the user interfaces for SAM VIBE which focuses on visually impaired users and young broadcasters – we have had 9 year old streaming in 10 minutes from installation on SAM VIBE – a real success, and also some really big stations asking for the software for their own broadcasting. I have also been involved in designing the players for all our radio stations, and radio automation software.
I have become somewhat of an expert concerning responsive web design, and could be seen as a half-an-expert on all web design, CSS, HTML 5and JavaScript. I am busy making a Chrome Experiment, so will soon be a bit of an expert on Web API, Audio API and SGL.
I also have extensive knowledge on structuring web services, Java EE, and a little bit on C# .NET, ASPX and Azure. I have extensive knowledge on strategies to maximize use of the cloud and also user retension based on proper interaction design and gamification (not points and leader boards please).
I am an expert on using Wordpress as both a CMS and Blog and can easily implement themes and plugins for both.
I also know a lot about user testing and user experience design – I did a lot of that during the design and production of SAM VIBE. I also know how to lead scrums, and manage developers in an agile environment.
