Waqar Hashmi (Arabic: وقار الهاشمي) is a Wikipedian. He began editing as an IP over the years, mostly for minor copy edits. He registered a Wikipedia account on November 18, 2022. He has extended confirmed, pending changes reviewer, and rollback rights and has made more than 7,000 contributions to the English Wikipedia.[1] He belongs to the global IP block exempt and two-factor authentication tester groups.[2]
Early life[edit]
Nothing much of value happened in the 12+ years since outside of going to school.
Interests[edit]
I am passionate about writing and sharing several stories. I appreciate watching films and reading novels of varied genres, including science fiction, thriller, mystery, spy, crime, science fantasy, dark fantasy, drama, and biographical genres. I also appreciate the technical aspects of video games for world-building and coding, enjoy biking and swimming, drink a variety of drinks, and do research into humanity and other areas of psychology and philosophy.
Hobbies[edit]
I love to travel and experience new cultures. I often am a Wikipediholic, which means I have seen a human Wikipedia in my dreams; I even hallucinate about her. She is often seen everywhere, and probably my humor comes from me claiming to be 1,000 years old.

Vandalism studies[edit]
I dislike vandalism and take it seriously.[a] I have been studying vandalism for a long time, often learning what the majority of vandals consist. The majority of vandals are IPs, but they are mainly immature children, usually too young for them to edit Wikipedia. Newbies often make non-constructive edits as they are new, so they learn themselves.
Wikipedia editing[edit]
I have a broad interest in topics and analysis. I mainly concentrate on editing while subject matter experts contribute content. My experience with Wikipedia began in 2022; the account's first edit took place on November 18, 2022, to Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.[3]
Whenever I get really frustrated with Wikipedia, I remind myself that Wikipedia is a long-range project and that it doesn't have to be perfect today. I think this makes me an optimistic eventualist. What I like about Wikipedia is that we're trying to educate other people, however imperfectly we may do it.
On Wikipedia, my contributions are varied. I fix various errors or unfortunate phrasings. My other edits include cleaning up formatting and vandalism, adding references and figures, and fixing typos and grammatical errors.[4][5]

Waqar is a YouTuber and professional photographer. He currently edits Wikipedia or something like that.
