Jo Dery is a multimedia artist working in Brattleboro, Vermont. She works in animation, book-binding, illustration, and installation.[1] She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a bachelor's degree in film, animation, and video, and earned her master's degree at Goddard College. She is a founding member of the Dirt Palace in Providence, Rhode Island [2] and completed a residency at the historic MacDowell Colony. Her work in animation and multimedia has been exhibited at the Dirt Palace, DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, [3] the Cinders Gallery in Brooklyn, New York,[4] and the New York Times.[5]

Her book Quietly Sure - Like the Keeper of a Great Secret was published in 2008. [6][7] Dery was awarded the Orphan Film Symposium's Helen Hill Award in 2012. [8] She has taught at Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and DePaul University. As of 2014, Dery teaches film studies at Keene State College.[9]
