Sheep farming in New Zealand is a major rural activity. As of June 2012, there were 31.2 million sheep, down 7.3 million from 2007[1]. The decline is attributed to competition from expanding dairy farms and a decline in mutton prices between 2007 and 2010. [2]. In 2007, there were
