Jorge Luis Revuelto González is a Mexican professional gridiron football strong safety for the Caudillos de Chihuahua of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). He played college football at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.

Early life[edit]

Born in Parral, Chihuahua, Revuelto began playing American football at the age of eight.[2]

Revuelto attended the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH) and played college football for the Águilas UACH [es] under head coach Carlos Altamirano.[3][4] In 2016, he recorded a pick-six in a historic 21–18 road win over the Pumas CU – their first win ever at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario.[5] Revuelto recorded 47 tackles that year, finishing top ten in the nation.[6] The Águilas finished the regular season with a 7–1 record.

Professional career[edit]

After graduation, Revuelto joined the Centauros de Ciudad Juárez of the Fútbol Americano de México (FAM) ahead of the league's inaugural 2019 season.[7] He forced a fumble and returned another fumble for a 60-yard touchdown in a 34–6 win over the Titanes de la Ciudad de México.[8] Revuelto recorded an interception in the Centauros' 22–14 semifinal victory against the Bulldogs de Naucalpan, helping the team qualify for the league's championship game, the Balón de Plata.[9][10] However, the Centuaros were defeated by the Pioneros de Querétaro 16–0 in the final to finish as league runner-ups.

Revuelto signed with the Dinos de Saltillo of the more well-established Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA) ahead of the 2020 LFA season.[1] He recorded a pick-six in a 23–15 win over the Fundidores de Monterrey in week 2 before intercepting a pass from Bruno Márquez in a 30–29 win over the Raptors de Naucalpan in week 3.[11][12] The season was shortened to five games due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico. Revuelto managed to record four interceptions, which tied Jerónimo Arzate for the league lead, as well as 18 tackles, one fumble recovery, and one defensive touchdown.[3][13]

In February 2021, Revuelto signed with the Caudillos de Chihuahua, returning to the FAM league.[14] He received praise from head coach Mauricio Balderrama, who called Revuelto one of the country's best players at his position.[14]

Revuelto was named the FAM Defensive Player of the Year.[15]

National team career[edit]

Revuelto won a gold medal at the 2016 World University Championship held in Monterrey, helping Mexico defeat the United States 35–7 in the final.[4][16]

In July 2022, Revuelto was named to the shortlist for the national team ahead of the 2023 IFAF World Championship.[17] The tournament was subsequently postponed to 2025.
