Jack Ricchetti had a short career in wrestling.  He was in the lowest weight class at 108.  He had an overall record of 1 win and 12 losses.  His parents forced him to retire after his second season.  Right after wrestling, Jack started his baseball career.  Baseball only lasted 2 years.  During Jack’s second year, he had a team high of 32 strikeouts.  Once again, his parents made him retire. Jack’s high school experience at Glenbard East High School started out with a fight; therefore, Jack switched schools after 2 months into his freshmen year. Jack then moved to the the private school Montini Catholic High School. In 2020 schools were ELearning because of the Covid19 pandemic.  This inspired Jack to reconnect with his childhood friends and go back to Glenbard East saving his parents a lot of money in tuition for the private school. Jack graduated in 2021 ranked 201st in his class of 512 students. Illinois State, Iowa State, and University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee were his top 3 of college choices.  Finally, he decided to take his talents to UWM, and is a Panther.

Bio

I am currently enrolled as a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. I am originally from Lombard, Illinois but moved to Milwaukee in 2021 to further my education. I attended Montini Catholic High School for three years of my high school education. In my senior year of high school, I transferred to the public school Glenbard East High School due to the personal effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I am generally a very outgoing person. I enjoy physical activities such as biking, golf, racquetball, and even sailing. I also enjoy staying busy, so if I'm not practicing my many hobbies, I am most likely working hard to advance my career and education. I could be described as energetic and motivated. I think there is always room for improvement; having that mindset is the best way to grow and succeed.

Effects of Covid-19

The Covid Pandemic was a humbling experience for me. I have largley different values now than I did pre-pandemic. I learned to be grateful for everything and everyone that I have in my life. I also attained a greater appreciation for things like my education and human interaction. When the Pandemic started, I was a junior in high school. I lost all interaction with my peers and educators in only a day. Throughout the rest of my high school experience, I was forced into online and partial in-person schooling. This made it very challenging to develop socially and grow relationships. By the time I graduated, human interaction was highly unfamiliar. I felt out of touch with reality. I was thrown into my first year of college with little to no social skills. I had to form entirely new relationships. This was one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had. I knew that to become the person I wanted to be; I had to overcome my social anxiety. Throughout my first year, I have redeveloped my social skills and become more in touch with the outgoing person I was before the Pandemic. Overall the Pandemic is something that defines me as a person today. I knew that if I could overcome something like the Covid-19 Pandemic, then I could overcome any feat that came my way.
