Introduction[edit]

Praj Industries Ltd. is a global bioprocessing and engineering company [1] headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, India, with international offices in USA, South Africa, Thailand, Philippines and UAE [2] [3] [4] [5] .It is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange [6] and National Stock Exchange of India [7] . Praj Matrix [8] is the R & D Center of Praj Industries.

History[edit]

Praj was formed in 1984 with the intent of providing solutions for the Agro based process industry. It went public in 1994, and is listed on the Stock Exchanges of India.

Praj provides technology and plants for the biofuels industry. These include Ethanol fuel technology and plants[9] [10] as well as water & wastewater treatment [9] [10] solutions.

Praj also caters to the Brewery[9] [10] industry for engineering and supply of equipment for beer production and, to the wider Process industry for critical process equipment & systems[9] [10]. It also supplies Biotechnology products for the distillery and brewery industry. With the acquisition of Neela Systems [11] , Praj now provides integrated solutions to the Pharmaceutical_industry.

  • Alcohol/Fuel Ethanol Plants [9][10] Praj manufactures and supplies fuel ethanol, beverage alcohol and industrial-grade alcohol plants, worldwide. It has launched a commercial demo plant for second generation ethanol technology for Ethanol manufacture from non-food sources[12] [13].
  • Brewery Plants [9][10] - Praj supplies process engineering and equipment manufacturing services to Brewery Plants.
  • Water/Wastewater treatment plants [9][10]– Praj supplies industrial Raw water and Wastewater treatment solutions to the Textiles, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Power, Paper & Pulp, Chemical & Process Industries. It also manufactures zero liquid discharge systems.
  • Critical Process Equipment[14] – Praj manufactures critical process equipment & systems for a range of applications across industries: Distillation Columns, Pressure Vessels, Fermenters , Reactors, Tanks, Heat Exchangers, Evaporators, Separators, Process Skids, Customized Fabrication / Fabricated Equipment for specific industries comprise the major offerings in this segment.
  • Bionutrients [10]– Praj offers a range of Fermentation performance enhancers under the “Effytone” [10]series which improve the yield and lowers the bacterial contamination
  • Livestock health & nutrition range (LHN) [15] – Praj offers a set of bio-based products which are derived from agro materials and produced by complex fermentation/enzyme based processes. LHN products provide solutions to a variety of health and productivity improvement opportunities in the dairy, poultry and aqua segments in a natural way, as specialty feed supplements

Praj carries out socially relevant projects in partnership with Praj Foundation[20].
