Prof. Jamal Saleh Al Wakeel (born 1956) is a Saudi national and a prominent author and co-author of many medical research articles submitted to The Annals of Saudi Medicine[1] and Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation (SJKDT)[2]. At present, he is now a member of The National Editorial Board for SJKDT[3].

He is also a well renowned medical professor, doctor, consultant, inventor, and a national and international speaker in conferences. Over the past two and a half decades, he has worked in a wide-variety of professional capacities in both the private and public sectors. He had also written books which now have been very useful for medical students and health workers who are in the same field like him.

Prof. Al Wakeel earned his MBBCh degree in 1980 in Cairo University. His specialty is Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), which he obtained in 1987 and sub specialty is Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), which he obtained in 1990 and FRCPC in 1988. His focuses are on Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Renal Transplantation and Renal Diseases and have great interest in Diabetic Nephropathy and Hypertension.
