Datagame is a computer software company based in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The company provides marketing and insights gamification tools, which measure consumer behavior through online games instead of online surveys.

Datagame was originally developed by Insights Meta, LLC, a consumer insights agency.

MaxDiff Rankifier[edit]

The MaxDiff Rankifier game is an interactive version of traditional max diff survey methodology. Max diff (also known as best-worst scaling) estimates the relative importance of each item in a set by iteratively prompting a participant with subsets of the full set and capturing which item is most and least preferred. MaxDiff Rankifier uses a playing card metaphor when presenting subsets of items for review by the participant.

MaxDiff Rankifier was Datagame's first survey gamification application.

Word Search Meta[edit]

Word Search Meta was Datagame's first insights gamification application that emphasized gameplay over data collection. As a result, it is more typically used for content marketing or user engagement applications, but also has applications as an insights tool.

Word Search Meta generates word search puzzles, using lists of words or phrases supplied by the user. Gameplay is identical to any other word search puzzle, where the user attempts to find words that are randomly hidden inside a grid of letters. In Word Search Meta, the player is also presented with a Likert scale feedback question after finding each hidden term. This allows the designer of the puzzle to collect rating scale feedback during gameplay.

Prefer![edit]

Prefer! was designed as an alternative solution for choice modeling exercises involving a smaller number of items. Where MaxDiff Rankifier presents three or four items for evaluation, Prefer! only presents to in a direct head-to-head contest. The game uses player choices to estimate the rank order preference of each item in the set, but does not measure the relative strength of preference. Prefer! also prompts users to provide rating scale feedback, which it combines with rank order preference data for analysis.
